Ergonomics Specialist (Dallas, TX)Position Title: Automotive Ergonomics SpecialistPrimary Responsibilities: Provide in-depth consolation in general ergonomic problems or within the area of specialty in ergonomics.Essential Functions:Works independently or leads ergonomic consulting team to assess ergonomic problems in a client organization, present recommendations for correction of cumulative trauma disorders and, on request, install recommendations in the client organization.Prepares a “Scope of the Work” project recommendation with estimated costs and expenses for client approval.Conducts, or leads the team in conducting, detailed ergonomic analyses by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from employees and work environments.Consolidates and compares data with relevant current research.Develops meaningful alternative solutions to identified ergonomic problems and proposes practical design solutions specific to the work site.Presents findings orally and in writing to designated client representatives with recommendations for abatement.Develops and implements programs for client employee selection, testing, and training in avoidance of cumulative trauma disorders.Supervises and trains technicians and associates in performing support tasks. Interviews and approves candidates for all professional and technical positions.At year-end, recommends profit sharing and bonus payments to professional and technical staff based on hours worked, level of responsibility, and individual performance on projects.Depending on the scope of the project, may work independently or lead a team of professional and technical personnel.Coordinates cross-training of professional and technical personnel to achieve an optimum level of knowledge and experience available for new projects.Qualifications & Experience:Extensive working knowledge and experience in ergonomics. Accreditation by the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics is required.Recognized degrees (typically Master’s) in ergonomics or human factors engineering. Several years’ experience in industry, construction, or process industries with ergonomic problems as a safety engineer or industrial hygienist.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to lead professional and technical teams and to interface effectively with all levels of client personnel.Salary is Market Rate.
