Duration: 2 days

Overview

If you are still a CATIA V5 user but have taken note that many OEMs are moving to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and you wish to align your capability in that direction without abandoning your core CATIA toolset, then this course is for you. In this course, you will learn how CATIA V5 operates with 3DEXPERIENCE through the Unified Product Structure (UPS) integration for smooth and efficient PLM control.
All content is buttressed with supplemental hands-on and practical master exercises.

Content

  • Examination of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform in Relation to CATIA V5
  • Saving CATIA V5 Parts, Products, and Drawings to 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Using the 3DEXPERIENCE Tools in a CATIA V5 Session
  • Leveraging Web-Based Apps to Review CATIA V5 Data
  • Managing Versions and Release of CATIA V5 Data
  • Understanding the Interoperability of CATIA V5 Data in Mixed-Mode Environments (Products Containing both CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA)
  • Mapping Part and Product Attributes between 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA V5 (a Sample CATIA V5 Script will be Provided to Attendees)

Prerequisites

Familiarity with CATIA V5.
Note that you do not need prior experience in 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA in order to complete this course.

Workbenches

Part Design, Sketcher

Description

This course will teach you how to create a 3D model using 3DEXPERIENCE between the Sketcher and Part Design workbenches to create individual parts. You will learn how to use different feature-based tools to build a model. You will also learn how to add parameters, then review, measure and modify a model.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to Create new parts, Create and constrain and modify sketches, Complete models using basic features, Parameterize a model, review and measure a model, integrate surfaces and apply materials to parts. and reuse existing features.

Workbenches

Assembly Design, Mechanical Systems Design, Design Review

Description

This course will teach you how to use multiple parts to create an assembly in the 3DEXPERIENCE environment, and how to add existing components and position them correctly. You will also learn how to design complex parts within an assembly environment and manage complex product structures including creating and using publications.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to insert, manipulate, constrain and modify components in an assembly; work with the links of the assembly; create parts within the assembly structure; create kinematic simulations; perform measurements, Analyze weight distribution. You will also learn how to analyze the weight distribution, create new component revisions and replace components. Create snapshots for a review and Export the final simulation.

Workbenches

Drafting

Description

This course will teach you how to manage drawing sheets and views in the Drafting app environment in 3DEXPERIENCE. You will also learn how to use advanced tools to dress-up, annotate views and customize the Drafting app.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to create, modify, and finalize the drawing sheets; position the views on a drawing sheet; create, generate and modify dimensions; create and modify annotations and symbols; create title blocks or backgrounds. You will also learn to create simple projection views and section views of 3D parts and assemblies.

Gateway 2019X

Description

This course is the entry point to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Its purpose is to teach you how to connect to the platform, access your work environment, navigate, search, work on the data, manage your projects, manage the dashboard, collaborate with your peers and share content in communities. You will also learn about the latest modifications to the user interface and the new functionalities that are added to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Objectives
